Regular Season Round 32: Akhisar Bld - Mersin 76-66

Date: April 25, 2015
Very predictable result when fifth ranked Akhisar Bld (21-11) won against at home bottom-ranked Mersin (7-25) 76-66. The game was mostly controlled by Akhisar Bld. Mersin was better in third quarter 24-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Mersin to just 7 points in fourth quarter. The best player for the winners was American-New Zealand forward Marcel Jones (203-85, college: Oregon St.) who scored 25 points and 7 rebounds. American forward Lance Goulbourne (203-89, college: Vanderbilt) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds. American-Lebanese swingman Antwain Barbour (196-82, college: Kentucky, agency: Three Eye Sports) produced 9 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists and American point guard Keddric Mays (183-84) added 19 points respectively for the guests. Mersin's coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Akhisar Bld maintains fifth position with 21-11 record. Mersin lost third consecutive game. They stay dead last with 25 lost games. Akhisar Bld's next round opponent will be Meliksah (#7) in Kayseri. Mersin will play at home against Istanbul DSI (#16) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
