Regular Season Round 43: Nevezis - Mazeikiai 82-98

Bottom-ranked Mazeikiai managed to get the third consecutive victory. This time newly promoted Mazeikiai won against ninth-ranked Nevezis in Kedainiai 98-82. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 16-point difference proves that Mazeikiai was well-prepared to that game. It looked good early as Nevezis took a 5-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Mazeikiai had a 22-8 second period charge getting the lead and Nevezis was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 82-98. Mazeikiai players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. It was a great evening for forward Darius Tarvydas (200-91) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international forward Simonas Serapinas (198-82) helped adding 18 points and 6 rebounds. At the losing side forward Vaidotas Volkus (203-85, college: Redlands CC) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Andrius Aleksandrovas (197-86) scored 21 points and 4 steals. Four Mazeikiai and five Nevezis players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Mazeikiai. Newly promoted Mazeikiai maintains eleventh place with 6-34 record. Nevezis lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the ninth position with 33 games lost. They share it with Tonybet.
