Regular Season Round 28: Trabzonspor - Usak 114-88

Very expected game when 13th ranked Usak (11-17) was crushed on the road by ninth ranked Trabzonspor (14-14) 114-88 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Trabzonspor. Usak was better in third quarter 32-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Trabzonspor shot 69.8 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 70.0 percentage. Trabzonspor looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Bulgarian power forward Kaloyan Ivanov (205-86, agency: Beo Basket) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and American-Congolese point guard Dwight Hardy (188-87, college: St.John's) who added 17 points during the contest. At the losing side American swingman Sam Young (198-85, college: Pittsburgh) responded with 22 points and 6 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Chris Warren (178-88, college: Mississippi) scored 14 points and 5 assists (made all of his eight free throws). Five Trabzonspor and four Usak players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Trabzonspor have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Turk Telekom and Galatasaray. Loser Usak keeps the thirteenth position with 17 games lost. Trabzonspor will face higher ranked Banvit BK (#6) in Balikesir in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Usak will play at home against Tofas (#16) and hope to win that game.
