Regular Season Round 1: Herner - Saarlouis 57-88

Herner TC was not able to use a home court advantage and was crushed by the opponent from Saarlouis 88-57 on Saturday night. The game without a history. TV Saarlouis Royals led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Herner TC's 34. They outrebounded Herner TC 37-22 including a 29-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Latvian forward Sabine Niedola (184-91) stepped up and scored 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and American guard Angela Tisdale (170-85, college: Baylor) chipped in 17 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four TV Saarlouis Royals players scored in double figures. At the losing side the former international power forward Sonja Greinacher (188-92, college: Gonzaga) responded with 12 points and forward Katharina Mueller (181-94) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
