Regular Season Round 1: Art.Dragons - Hertener Loewen 89-63

Artland Dragons used a home court advantage and smashed the opponent from Herten 89-63 on Saturday night. Artland Dragons looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American point guard Javarez Willis (180-89, college: Ohio) stepped up and scored 16 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and his fellow American import power forward Austin Bragg (206-91, college: W.Washington) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds. Four Artland Dragons players scored in double figures. Artland Dragons' coach Dragan Dojcin felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the losing side American guard Deandre Lansdowne (187-89, college: Fort Lewis) responded with 40 points (!!!) and Canadian guard Justin Dennis (185-87, college: CSU Bakersfield) scored 8 points. Artland Dragons will face SC Rist Wedel (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Hertener Loewen will play against RSV Eintracht and hope to win that game.
