Regular Season Round 3: Gussing - Vienna 94-78
Date: October 2, 2015
Very expected game when Vienna (1-2) lost on the road to Gussing Knights (3-0) 94-78 on Friday. The game was mostly controlled by Gussing Knights. Vienna managed to win second period 27-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gussing Knights shot 63.3 percent from the field. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American-Ivorian forward Dane Watts (203-86) who led the winners and scored 17 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). American swingman Bradford Burgess (198-90, college: VCU, agency: Interperformances) accounted for 18 points for the winning side. The former international guard Stjepan Stazic (199-78) came up with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and Serbian Predrag Miletic (193-84) added 21 points respectively for Vienna in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gussing Knights will meet Gmunden Swans (#9) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Vienna will play against Furstenfeld Panthers (#1) and hope to win that game.
