The most surprising game was the first loss of Furstenfeld Panthers (3-1) in Wien on Monday night. Visitors were defeated by seventh ranked Vienna (2-2) 81-68. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Furstenfeld Panthers. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 2-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 81-68. Vienna dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Furstenfeld Panthers' 26. Worth to mention a great performance of Serbian point guard Bogic Vujosevic (189-92, agency: Octagon Europe) who helped to win the game recording 24 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and American-Bahamas forward Jonathan Fairell (201-93, college: Murray St., agency: Duran International) who added 14 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American power forward Gary Ware (205-83, college: Purdue, agency: Interperformances) responded with 15 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and Croatian Marko Car (188-85) scored 9 points and 8 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Vienna moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Furstenfeld Panthers at the other side dropped to the third position with one game lost. Vienna is looking forward to face league's second-placed Kapfenberg Bulls on the road in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Furstenfeld Panthers will play against the league's leader Gussing Knights and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
