Regular Season Round 3: Bad Aibling - Bamberg 83-62

Host Fireballs (3-0) smashed Don Bosco Bamberg (2-1) 83-62. The game was mostly controlled by Fireballs. Don Bosco Bamberg managed to win third quarter 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Fireballs dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Don Bosco Bamberg's 28. Fireballs forced 23 Don Bosco Bamberg turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Lindsay Sherbert (184, college: Gonzaga) who scored 21 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Power forward Jessica Hootmann (190-85) chipped in 12 points and 5 assists. Five Fireballs players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Latvian guard Ieva Jansone (180-90, college: Valparaiso) who recorded 12 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) and Estonian guard Liisi Sokman (166-88) added 16 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Fireballs will meet Wasserburg II (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Don Bosco Bamberg will play against Homburger TG (#6) and hope to secure a win.
