The biggest surprise of round 1 in Liga Feminina took place in Lisboa where host Benfica (2-0) beat AD Vagos (1-1) 86-78 on Sunday evening. The game without a history. Benfica led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Benfica outrebounded AD Vagos 38-26 including 16 on the offensive glass. American forward Callan Taylor (182-90, college: Sacred Heart) fired a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Swingman Joana Ramos (170-92) chipped in 22 points and 9 rebounds. The former international swingman Daniela Domingues (176-92) produced 31 points and the former international center Ana Teixeira (185-79) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four AD Vagos players scored in double figures. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
