Regular Season Round 5: Vytautas - P.Zvaigzdes 92-72

The game in Prienai supposed to be also quite interesting. 4th placed P.Zvaigzdes (2-2) played at the court of fifth ranked Vytautas (3-1). Vytautas did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 92-72 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Vytautas. P.Zvaigzdes was better in third quarter 22-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. Vytautas outrebounded P.Zvaigzdes 41-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. P.Zvaigzdes was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was guard Vytautas Sulskis (200-88, college: Youngstown St., agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 27 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Laimonas Kisielius (203-85, college: William & Mary) chipped in 18 points. Four Vytautas players scored in double figures. Power forward Giedrius Staniulis (205-91) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and American guard Ramone Moore (193-89, college: Temple) added 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. P.Zvaigzdes' coach Mantas Sernius rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Vytautas moved-up to third place. Loser P.Zvaigzdes keeps the fourth position with two games lost. Vytautas will face Neptunas in Klaipeda in the next round. P.Zvaigzdes will play at home against Lietkabelis and hope to win that game.
