Regular Season Round 2: SC Kryvbas - Khimik 65-84

An exciting game was played in Kryvyi Rih. Khimik faced SC Kryvbas. Guests from Yuzhny (3-0) smashed host SC Kryvbas (1-1) 84-65. The game was mostly controlled by Khimik. SC Kryvbas was better in second period 21-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Khimik dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to SC Kryvbas' 24 and made 18-of-22 charity shots (81.8 percent) during the game. The former international forward Vladimir Konev (201-89) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Swingman Olexandr Belikov (200-92) contributed with 12 points and 4 steals for the winners. Four Khimik players scored in double figures. International swingman Dmytro Gliebov (198-88, agency: Beo Basket) replied with 18 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Dmitriy Lypovtsev added 12 points in the effort for SC Kryvbas. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Khimik will play against Cherkasy on the road in the next round where they are favorite. SC Kryvbas will play against Bipa Basket to get more than just one victory in their record.
