Regular Season Round 3: Amager - Virum 71-79

Date: October 13, 2015
An interesting game was played in Kastrup where Virum beat host Amager 79-71 on Tuesday evening. The guests trailed by 2 points at the halftime before their 22-11 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Virum dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Amager's 28. They outrebounded Amager 44-25 including a 25-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for forward Nikoline Oestergaard (183-92, college: Quinnipiac) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. American forward Melissa Gilkey (185-92, college: Wash.-St.Louis) helped adding 24 points and 9 rebounds. The best for the losing side was American forward Tamara Jones (180-93, college: S.Mississippi) with 26 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Emilie Fogelstrom (166-92) scored 16 points. Amager's coach Jesper Krone Rasmussen rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Virum will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Amager will play against Stevnsgade (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
