Regular Season Round 6: Wels - Oberwart 70-82

Very expected game when 9th ranked Raiffeisen Wels (1-5) lost at home to fourth ranked Redwell Gunners Oberwart (4-2) 82-70. It looked good early as Raiffeisen Wels took a 3-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Redwell Gunners Oberwart had a 23-14 second period charge getting the lead and Raiffeisen Wels were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 70-82. American players dominated the game. Guard Quincy Diggs (198-90, college: Akron, agency: Mansfield and Associates) scored 29 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Derek Jackson (185-91, college: Kent St., agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) chipped in 20 points and 7 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was guard Devante Wallace (196-92, college: High Point) with 26 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Nick Okorie (185-88, college: Texas Tech) scored 11 points and 7 assists. Redwell Gunners Oberwart moved-up to second place, which they share with Furstenfeld and Kapfenberg. Raiffeisen Wels at the other side dropped to the bottom position with five games lost. They share it with Gmunden. Redwell Gunners Oberwart will play against Vienna (#6) in Wien in the next round. Raiffeisen Wels will play on the road against Gmunden Swans (#9) in Gmunden and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
