Regular Season Round 6: Arkadia - Gussing 62-75

A Bundesliga top team - Gussing Knights (6-0) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat sixth ranked Arkadia Lions (2-4) in Traiskirchen 75-62. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Gussing Knights's pressure prevailed and they won that period 25-17 extending their advantage to 13 points. They made 17-of-19 charity shots (89.5 percent) during the game. American-Ivorian forward Dane Watts (203-86) had a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) to lead the charge for the winners and international point guard Thomas Klepeisz (185-91, agency: HMS) chipped in 13 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was Argentinian-Italian forward Fabricio Vay (207-86, agency: Interperformances) with 16 points and 6 rebounds and the former international point guard Benedikt Danek (176-86) scored 13 points and 7 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Gussing Knights have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 6-0 record. Arkadia Lions at the other side dropped to the seventh place with four games lost. They share the position with Klosterneuburg. Gussing Knights will play against Kapfenberg Bulls (#4) at home in the next round. Arkadia Lions will play against Dukes and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
