Very important is a road loss of Bakospor (0-1) against Urla BLD (1-0) on Saturday night. Visiting Bakospor was defeated by Urla BLD in a tough game in Izmir 71-77. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Bakospor won third quarter 23-13. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Urla BLD forced 23 Bakospor turnovers and outrebounded them 46-33 including a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. American center Molly Schlemer (196-92, college: Cal Poly - SLO) fired a double-double by scoring 21 points and 17 rebounds for the winners. Begum Serbest (-92) chipped in a double-double by scoring 13 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. American power forward Sharon Houston (191-88, college: Indiana NW) produced a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 19 rebounds and 6 blocks and Nelin Yilmaz (-97) added 23 points and 8 assists respectively for lost side. Urla BLD will face Alanya Bld on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Bakospor will play against Istanbulgucu and hope to win that game.
