Regular Season Round 1: TED Ankara - Alanya Bld 94-74

The biggest surprise of round 1 in TKBL took place in Ankara where host TED Ankara (1-0) crushed Alanya Bld (0-1) 94-74 on Saturday evening. The game without a history. TED Ankara led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. TED Ankara outrebounded Alanya Bld 52-37 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. 35 personal fouls committed by Alanya Bld helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The former international center Melike Yalcinkaya (189-93) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Canadian forward Kalisha Keane (185-89, college: Michigan St.) chipped in 7 points, 15 rebounds and 9 assists. Four TED Ankara players scored in double figures. American forward Porsha Harris (188-90, college: Bethel, TN, agency: Gamble Sports Management) produced a double-double by scoring 28 points and 20 rebounds and Manolya Kurtulmus (187-98) added 16 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Alanya Bld will play next round against Urla BLD trying to make it back to the top of the standings. TED Ankara will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
