Regular Season Round 1: Blyskavky - SDYUSHOR-5 74-34

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of SDYUSHOR-5 (0-1) in Vinnytsia on Saturday night. Visitors were rolled over by Blyskavky (1-0) 74-34. The game without a history. Blyskavky led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding SDYUSHOR-5 to just 5 points in second quarter. Blyskavky dominated down low during the game scoring 40 of its points in the paint compared to SDYUSHOR-5's 18. Blyskavky forced 30 SDYUSHOR-5 turnovers and outrebounded them 44-30 including a 21-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Center Oksana Stepanyuk (190-95) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and power forward Cynthia Omoboogunje (185-94) chipped in 11 points and 9 rebounds. Four Blyskavky players scored in double figures. Blyskavky's coach felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side point guard Oksana Fastova (168-99) responded with 18 points and 7 rebounds and center Mariia Semenichenko (186) scored 6 points, 10 rebounds and 5 blocks. Blyskavky will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. SDYUSHOR-5 will play on the road against Dynamo-NPU in Kyiv and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
