Regular Season Round 5: Herner - BG 89 Avides 74-69

Date: October 18, 2015
The game in Herne was also worth to mention about. 4th placed Rotenburg/Scheessel (3-2) played at the court of fifth ranked Herner TC (4-1). Herner TC managed to secure a 5-point victory 74-69. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Rotenburg/Scheessel. Rotenburg/Scheessel was ahead by 3 points at the halftime before a 23-9 third quarter run of Herner TC. International swingman Ireti Amojo (176-90, college: Washington St.) nailed 21 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and the former international power forward Sonja Greinacher (188-92, college: Gonzaga) accounted for 14 points and 11 rebounds. American power forward Kierra Mallard (188-90, college: Texas Tech) came up with 14 points and 7 rebounds and forward Laura Rahn (186-86) added 13 points respectively for Rotenburg/Scheessel in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Herner TC. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Marburg. Rotenburg/Scheessel at the other side dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. Herner TC's next round opponent will be Eisvogel Freiburg (#9) on the road which should be theoretically an easy game. Rotenburg/Scheessel will play against the league's second-placed TSV 1880 Wasserburg (#2) and hope to win that game.
