Regular Season Round 7: Oberwart - Vienna 88-79

Date: October 18, 2015
Rather predictable result when third ranked Redwell Gunners Oberwart (5-2) defeated at home 6th ranked Vienna (3-4) 88-79 on Sunday. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 88-79. American guard Quincy Diggs (198-90, college: Akron, agency: Mansfield and Associates) fired 19 points, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winners. His fellow American import forward Chris Ferguson (206-89, college: Mid-Continent, agency: HMS) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. American-Bahamas forward Jonathan Fairell (201-93, college: Murray St., agency: Duran International) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) and Serbian point guard Bogic Vujosevic (189-92, agency: Octagon Europe) added 18 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Four Redwell Gunners Oberwart and five Vienna players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Redwell Gunners Oberwart. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Furstenfeld. Loser Vienna dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with Klosterneuburg and UBSC Graz. Redwell Gunners Oberwart will meet league's second-placed Furstenfeld Panthers on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Vienna will play against Gmunden Swans and hope to secure a win.
