Regular Season Round 3: Cherkasy - Khimik 62-81

Khimik (4-0) had no problems winning another game on Wednesday. This time they crushed Cherkasy (1-2) 81-62. The game was mostly controlled by Khimik. Cherkasy managed to win second period 17-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Khimik won last quarter 28-11. They dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Cherkasy's 26. It was a good game for American point guard Branden Frazier (190-92, college: Fordham) who led his team to a victory with 18 points and 6 rebounds. Viacheslav Petrov (203-94) contributed with 21 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Four Khimik players scored in double figures. Oleksandr Kobets (194-96) answered with 20 points and swingman Denis Noskov (202-90) added 10 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Cherkasy. Cherkasy's coach Maksym Mikhelson rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Khimik are looking forward to face Bipa Basket (#9) in Odessa in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Cherkasy will play at home against Zaporizhya (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
