Regular Season Round 8: Klosterneuburg - Gussing 55-66

Undefeated leader Gussing Knights delivered the eighth consecutive victory on Friday night. This time they beat 5th ranked Dukes (3-5) 66-55 in Klosterneuburg. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Dukes. The game was mostly controlled by Gussing Knights. Dukes managed to win third quarter 18-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Gussing Knights won last quarter 19-10. They also forced 23 Dukes turnovers. Worth to mention a quality performance of American-Ivorian forward Dane Watts (203-86) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 8 rebounds and American forward Jerrell Wright (203, college: La Salle) who added 16 points during the contest. American forward Malik Cooke (201-89, college: S.Carolina) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and international center Jozo Rados (203-93, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 12 points and 9 rebounds. Gussing Knights (8-0) have an impressive eight-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with a perfect record of 8 victories in a row. Loser Dukes dropped to the sixth place with five games lost. They share the position with UBSC Graz. Gussing Knights will meet at home UBSC Graz (#6) in the next round where they are favorite. Dukes will play against Raiffeisen Wels and hope to secure a win.
