Regular Season Round 8: Perlas-MRU - Vytis 86-91

Very expected game when 10th ranked Perlas-MRU (2-6) lost to fifth ranked Vytis (5-3) in Vilnius 86-91. The guests were already 12 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 22-15 Perlas-MRU's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 91-86 at the end of the game. 30 personal fouls committed by Perlas-MRU helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was guard Dovydas Redikas (192-92) who scored 27 points and 5 assists. Forward Karolis Brusokas (200-91) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Margiris Normantas (194-96) produced 25 points and 6 assists and center Edvinas Jezukevicius (207-90) added 20 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Five Vytis and four Perlas-MRU players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Vytis have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Zalgiris II and Telsiai. Perlas-MRU at the other side dropped to the eleventh position with six games lost. Vytis' next round opponent will be Delikatesas (#8) in Joniskis. Perlas-MRU will play on the road against Lietkabelis-2 in Panevezys and hope to win that game.
