Regular Season Round 6: Utena - Kibirkstis-VICI 80-62

There was a change at the LMKL leadership position after last games. Round 6 most important game was a defeat of league's leader Kibirkstis-VICI (3-1). They were defeated by fourth ranked Utena (3-1) 80-62 on Saturday night. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Kibirkstis-VICI. It was a key game for the second position in the league. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 6-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 80-62. Utena forced 19 Kibirkstis-VICI turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. International swingman Marina Solopova (180-90) scored 17 points and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and point guard Rita Milieskiene (175-78) chipped in 19 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Shenita Landry (188-87, college: Temple, agency: Two Points) with 14 points and 8 rebounds and international Laura Juskaite (187-97) scored 8 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Utena have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Kibirkstis-VICI and H-Sirenos. Kibirkstis-VICI will play next round against league's leader Suduva trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Utena will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked Hoptrans-Sirenos Kaunas on the road.
