Regular Season Round 2: Canik Bld - Hatay 63-82

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Canik Bld (1-1) in Samsun. Hosts were rolled over by Hatay (2-0) 82-63. The game was mostly controlled by Hatay. Canik Bld was better in third quarter 19-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hatay had a 32-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Hatay especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. American center Courtney Paris (191-87, college: Oklahoma) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 17 rebounds. Hungarian power forward Anna Vajda (191-84, agency: Josep and Nicolas) contributed with 22 points for the winners. Latvian center Zane Teilane-Tamane (200-83, college: W.Illinois, agency: LBM Management) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds and Montenegrin power forward Iva Perovanovic (188-83) added 14 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Canik Bld. Five Hatay and four Canik Bld players scored in double figures. Hatay will play against Gelistirenler (#10) in Istanbul in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Canik Bld will play on the road against Abdullah Gul (#9) in Kayseri to get more than just one victory in their record.
