Regular Season Round 7: Nevezis - Dzukija 60-49

Bottom-ranked Nevezis managed to get a second victory. This time they won against ninth-ranked Dzukija in Kedainiai 60-49. Nevezis dominated on the defensive end, holding Dzukija to just 7 points in third quarter. They also forced 20 Dzukija turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Darius Gvezdauskas (191-88) who helped to win the game recording 20 points. American guard Grant Johnson (196-90, college: Winona St., agency: Dynamics Global Management) contributed with 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Rytis Juknevicius (187-93) answered with 7 points and 7 assists and Polish center Adam Lapeta (217-87, agency: Alti Sport) added 8 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Dzukija. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Nevezis (2-4) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Lietkabelis and P.Zvaigzdes. Dzukija at the other side dropped to the bottom position with five games lost. Nevezis' next round opponent will be higher ranked Juventus (#5) in Utena and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Dzukija will play on the road against Vytautas (#3) in Prienai and hope to win that game.
