Regular Season Round 3: Mykolaiv - Cherkasy 69-83

There was a minor upset when Mykolaiv (1-2) lost at home to Cherkasy (1-2) 83-69. It looked good early as Mykolaiv took a 9-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Cherkasy took control and eventually winning the game that evening by 14 points. Mykolaiv was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for international forward Alexander Sizov (199-88) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Oleksandr Kobets (194-96) helped adding 22 points and 8 rebounds. The best for the losing side was point guard Vladyslav Tonchenko (185-89) with 11 points and 7 assists and the former international forward Olexiy Onufriyev (200-82) scored 16 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cherkasy will play against Zaporizhya (#5) in Zaporozhye in the next round. Mykolaiv will play at home against Zaporizhya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
