Regular Season Round 3: Beroe - Lukoil Acad. 65-93

The game in Stara Zagora supposed to be also quite interesting. Lukoil Acad. (3-0) played at the court of Beroe (1-2). Lukoil Acad. smashed Beroe 93-65 on Saturday. The game without a history. Lukoil Acad. led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to Beroe's 32. They outrebounded Beroe 36-21 including 26 on the defensive glass. Lukoil Acad. looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Beroe's players. It was a great evening for international Dimitar Dimitrov (203-93, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Croatian forward Zeljko Sakic (204-88, agency: Beo Basket) helped adding 16 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). The best for the losing side was American forward Auston Barnes (203-91, college: Bradley) with 13 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import point guard Ashton Moore (183-93, college: Citadel) scored 10 points and 4 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lukoil Acad. will face Balkan in Botevgrad in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Beroe will play on the road against Chernomorets (#9) in Burgas and hope to win that game.
