ChemCats Chemnitz's fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team after five consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Oberhausen (0-6) 78-62 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by ChemCats Chemnitz. Oberhausen managed to win fourth quarter 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. ChemCats Chemnitz made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. ChemCats Chemnitz outrebounded Oberhausen 35-24 including 24 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for American forward Madi Buck (183, college: N.Dakota) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. The former international center Lisa Koop (197-85, college: Winthrop) contributed with 18 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four ChemCats Chemnitz players scored in double figures. American forward Melissa Williams (185, college: E.Washington) replied with 20 points and 5 rebounds and her fellow American import guard Jylisa Williams (176-89, college: Georgia St.) added 15 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Oberhausen. ChemCats Chemnitz maintains tenth position with 1-5 record. It was Oberhausen's sixth loss in a row. They still close the standings with six games lost. They share the position with Osnabruck. ChemCats Chemnitz will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Oberhausen will play at home against Osnabruck (#12) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
