Regular Season Round 3: Terceira - Barreirense 69-59

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Barreirense (2-1) in Angra Heroismo. Visitors were defeated by Terceira (3-1) 69-59. It was a great evening for American forward Matt Smith (201-91, college: Toledo) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points. Forward Filipe Pinheiro (190-90) helped adding 16 points. Terceira's coach Daniel Brandao allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was Cape Verdean forward Kevin Coronel (197-91) with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 11 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and swingman Daniel Margarido (191-92) scored 13 points. Terceira will play against Estoril Basket (#6) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Barreirense will have a break next round.
