Everything could happen in Sakaraya at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Sakarya BSB and 6th ranked Balikesir had identical 2-1 record. This time Sakarya BSB used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Balikesir 86-75 on Tuesday night. The game without a history. Sakarya BSB led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Balikesir's 42. Sakarya BSB looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a very good performance for American point guard Terry Smith (185-86, college: Mercyhurst) who helped to win the game recording 30 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import Sean Evans (203-88, college: St.John's) contributed with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Four Sakarya BSB players scored in double figures. American forward Mike Davis (205-88, college: Illinois) replied with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Serkan Mentese (175-91, agency: 1x1 Sports) added 19 points in the effort for Balikesir. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Sakarya BSB (3-1) moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Akhisar Bld. Loser Balikesir dropped to the seventh position with two games lost. Sakarya BSB will face Final Genclik (#13) in Bursa in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Balikesir will play on the road against Gelisim (#14) in Izmir and hope to win that game.
