Regular Season Round 4: Bandirma Kir. - Gelisim 61-79

Date: October 27, 2015
Gelisim's fans can celebrate the first win of their team after three consecutive loses. The victory is especially important as it came on the road game in Balikesir, where they defeated Bandirma Kir. (0-4) 79-61 on Tuesday. The game was mostly controlled by Gelisim. Bandirma Kir. managed to win fourth quarter 18-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gelisim had a 31-19 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by the former international Reha Oz (200-78) who scored that evening 17 points and 7 rebounds and American point guard Kendall Anthony (173-93, college: Richmond) supported him with 15 points. Even 18 points and 8 rebounds by center Metehan Akyel (206-96) did not help to save the game for Bandirma Kir.. Guard Ridvan Oncel (190-97) added 18 points for lost side. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Gelisim (1-3) left bottom position moving up to eleventh place, which they share with 5 other teams. It was Bandirma Kir.'s fourth loss in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with four games lost. They share the position with Istanbul DSI. Gelisim will meet at home higher ranked Balikesir (#7) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Bandirma Kir. will play against Tofas (#4) having rather not much hope for a victory.
