Regular Season Round 3: Urla BLD - Elazig 82-70

Rather expected game in Izmir where Elazig (0-3) was defeated by Urla BLD (2-1) 82-70 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Urla BLD. Elazig was better in fourth quarter 19-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Urla BLD dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Elazig's 42. Urla BLD forced 22 Elazig turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a great evening for American center Molly Schlemer (196-92, college: Cal Poly - SLO) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 13 rebounds. Sinem Elmas (-94) helped adding 16 points and 5 rebounds. Four Urla BLD players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American power forward Sharon Houston (191-88, college: Indiana NW) with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 19 rebounds and 5 blocks and Kamile Altun (-94) scored 22 points and 6 rebounds. Urla BLD will face Osmaniye (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
