Not a big story in a game in Eskisehir where Mersin Gelisim (0-3) was edged by Anadolu Univ. (2-1) 60-58 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 12 points after three quarters before their 23-11 charge, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time and get a 2-point victory in overtime. It was a great evening for point guard Tugba Gonen (170-90) who led her team to a victory scoring 22 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Forward Pinar Caliskan (173-93) helped adding 10 points and 5 assists. The best for the losing side was Ilknur Yildizhan (186-96) with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 13 rebounds and power forward Emel Turkyilmaz (194-92) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 6 blocks. Four Mersin Gelisim players scored in double figures. Anadolu Univ. will face Fenerbahce (#10) in Istanbul in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mersin Gelisim will play at home against 55 Genclik and hopes to get finally their first victory.
