Round 4 in NBL means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Sofia where host Lukoil Acad. (4-0) beat league's leader Balkan (3-1) 71-66 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Balkan. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Croatian forward Zeljko Sakic (204-88, agency: Beo Basket) fired 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. The former international Filip Videnov (196-80, college: W.Kentucky, agency: Alti Sport) chipped in 22 points. Serbian power forward Marko Brkic (206-82, agency: Beo Basket) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and Martin Marinov (191-85) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Lukoil Acad. have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader. Balkan at the other side dropped to the second place with one game lost. They share the position with Spartak Pleven and Cherno More. They were replaced at the leadership position by Lukoil Acad.. Balkan will play next round against Chernomorets trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Lukoil Acad. will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked Yambol on the road.
