Regular Season Round 7: Marburg - Herner 62-70

The game in Marburg was also quite interesting. Third ranked Herner TC (6-1) played at the court of 5th ranked BC Pharmaserv Marburg (4-3). Herner TC managed to secure a 8-point victory 70-62 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But BC Pharmaserv Marburg won fourth quarter 23-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The former international power forward Sonja Greinacher (188-92, college: Gonzaga) fired 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Quenese Davis (170-88, college: San Diego St.) chipped in 13 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Herner TC players scored in double figures. American guard Tonisha Baker (168-90, college: Campbell) produced 15 points and 5 rebounds and the former international power forward Svenja Greunke (188-89) added 9 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. The victory was the sixth consecutive win for Herner TC. They maintain third place with 6-1 record behind leader Keltern. BC Pharmaserv Marburg at the other side keeps the fifth position with three games lost. They share it with Halle. Herner TC will meet at home league's second-placed TSV 1880 Wasserburg in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. BC Pharmaserv Marburg will have a break next round.
