Regular Season Round 7: Oberhausen - Osnabruck 66-62

Oberhausen has finally registered their first victory this season after six consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Osnabruck (0-7) 66-62 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 6 points at the halftime before their 22-9 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Strangely Osnabruck outrebounded Oberhausen 49-29 including a 34-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. 26 personal fouls committed by Osnabruck helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for American guard Jylisa Williams (176-89, college: Georgia St.) who led her team to a victory scoring 24 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Power forward Aline Stiller (184-94) helped adding 11 points. At the losing side American guard Jasmine Thomas (170-91, college: Michigan St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds and the other American import forward Katelyn McDaniel (182-93, college: San Diego) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Oberhausen (1-6) left bottom position moving up to tenth place, which they share with Chemnitz. It was Osnabruck's seventh loss in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with seven games lost. Oberhausen is looking forward to face higher ranked TH Wohnbau Angels (#8) in Noerdlingen in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Osnabruck will play at home against TV Saarlouis Royals (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
