Everything could happen in Coimbra at the game between two tied teams. Both sixth ranked Olivais and 7th ranked Sporting had identical 2-2 record. This time Olivais used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Lisboa 62-54. Olivais outrebounded Sporting 43-25 including a 27-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. American guard Jasmine Crew (170-89, college: Seton Hall) stepped up and scored 28 points for the winners and her fellow American import forward Brittany Hodges (185-93, college: Furman) chipped in 14 points and 14 rebounds. Spanish Arantxa Mallou (181-91) responded with 20 points and power forward Telma Fernandes (180-91) scored 13 points and 8 rebounds. The victory was the third consecutive win for Olivais. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Benfica. Newly promoted Sporting keeps the seventh position with three games lost. They share it with Lombos Quinta. Olivais will play against league's leader GDESSA in Barreiro in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Sporting will play on the road against CD Torres N. (#5) in Torres Novas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
