Very important is a road loss of second ranked Furstenfeld Panthers (7-3) against seventh ranked Arkadia Lions (4-6) on Sunday night. Visiting Furstenfeld Panthers were crushed by Arkadia Lions in Traiskirchen 95-76. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Furstenfeld Panthers. The game was mostly controlled by Arkadia Lions. Furstenfeld Panthers was better in fourth quarter 25-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Arkadia Lions especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 75.0 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. The former international forward Florian Trmal (199-89, agency: Dynamics Global Management) notched 23 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and Lithuanian forward Donatas Tarolis (202-94, agency: Interperformances) supported him with 20 points and 6 rebounds. Arkadia Lions' coach Franz Zderadicka used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 15 points and 8 rebounds by American Anthony Lee (206-91, college: Ohio St.) did not help to save the game for Furstenfeld Panthers. Forward Toni Blazan (195-92) added 17 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Arkadia Lions moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Klosterneuburg. Furstenfeld Panthers at the other side keep the second position with three games lost. Arkadia Lions will play against higher ranked Kapfenberg Bulls (#5) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Furstenfeld Panthers will play against Dukes and hope to get back on the winning track.
