Bottom-ranked Rapid is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their ninth consecutive match to seventh ranked Alexandria (4-4) 68-43 on Wednesday evening. The game was mostly controlled by Alexandria. Rapid managed to win fourth quarter 14-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Alexandria forced 27 Rapid turnovers. The winners were led by American point guard Shanita Arnold (165-89, college: Arizona, agency: Gamble Sports Management) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 25 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists and the other American import guard Elan Brown (183-91, college: Vanderbilt) supported her with 12 points and 11 rebounds. Even 10 points by center Roxana Bejan (187) did not help to save the game for Rapid. Swingman Claudia Ene (178-88) added 9 points for the hosts. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Alexandria maintains seventh position with 4-4 record. Loser Rapid still closes the standings with nine games lost. Alexandria will meet Galati (#8) on the road in the next round. Rapid will play against Alba Iulia and hopes to get finally their first victory.
