Regular Season Round 9: Mazeikiai - Telsiai 68-75

The most surprising game was the first loss of Mazeikiai (8-1) at the home court on Friday night. Hosts were defeated by sixth ranked Telsiai (6-3) 75-68. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Mazeikiai. Mazeikiai trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 23-18 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 68-75 at the end of the game. Guard Laurynas Kaveckis (190-90) stepped up and scored 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winners and Tomas Domarkas (183-91) chipped in 20 points. The best for the losing side was guard Sarunas Vingelis (192-89) with 18 points and 8 rebounds and forward Arvydas Gydra (206-89) scored 16 points. Telsiai moved-up to third place, which they share with Vytis and Palanga. Mazeikiai at the other side still keeps top position with one game lost. They share it with Suduva-Mantinga. Telsiai is looking forward to face Nafta-Uni. (#12) in Klaipeda in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mazeikiai will play on the road against Perlas-MRU (#9) in Vilnius and is hoping to win this game.
