Regular Season Round 7: Fraport SKY II - Saarlouis 87-94

There was a surprise result in Frankfurt where eleventh ranked Saarlouis (2-5) won against 4th placed Fraport Skyliners II (4-3) 94-87 on Saturday. Saarlouis dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Fraport Skyliners II's 38. Saarlouis forced 21 Fraport Skyliners II turnovers. Fraport Skyliners II was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American guard Ricky Easterling (188-83, college: Bridgewater) who led his team to a victory scoring 31 points (on 14-of-18 shooting from the field). Naturalized Bosnian center Muharem Mujkanovic (204-88) helped adding 16 points and 9 rebounds. Saarlouis' coach Dennis Mouget used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side point guard Garai Zeeb (186-97) responded with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and Johannes Richter (206-93) produced a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Saarlouis moved-up to ninth place in South, which they share with Licher Baeren and Wuerzburg. Loser Fraport Skyliners II dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Saarlouis will face Licher Basket (#10) at home in the next round. Fraport Skyliners II will play against Weissenhorn Youngstars (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
