There was a minor upset in Gaziantep where 9th ranked Demir IBB (2-2) was defeated by twelfth ranked Royal Hali (3-3) 86-74 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Royal Hali. Demir IBB was better in third quarter 16-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American-Bulgarian guard Earl Calloway (191-83, college: Indiana) who scored 30 points and 5 assists (on 11-of-13 shooting from the field). American forward Jawad Williams (204-83, college: N.Carolina) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. American-Tunisian Michael Roll (197-87, college: UCLA) produced 20 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and American power forward Kahiem Seawright (206-86, college: Rhode Island) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Demir IBB's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Royal Hali moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Darussafaka. Newly promoted Demir IBB dropped to the eleventh position with two games lost. Royal Hali will face league's leader Karsiyaka on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Demir IBB will play against Fenerbahce Ulker (#8) and hope to win that game.
