Regular Season Round 7: BC Timisoara - Gaz Metan 92-86

BC Timisoara has finally registered their first victory this season after six consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Gaz Metan (1-6) 92-86. The hosts were already 12 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 25-19 Gaz Metan's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 92-86 at the end of the game. It was a great shooting night for BC Timisoara especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. 24 personal fouls committed by Gaz Metan helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Montenegrin swingman Vujadin Subotic (198-81, agency: 011 Sports) who helped to win the game recording 28 points. Serbian guard Slobodan Dundjerski (188-88, agency: BeoExcell) contributed with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Belarusian-Russian Aliaksandr Pustahvar (202-85) answered with 19 points and 5 rebounds and Lithuanian Vaidotas Peciukas (199-82, college: Hawaii) added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Gaz Metan. Five BC Timisoara and four Gaz Metan players scored in double figures. BC Timisoara left bottom position moving up to eleventh place, which they share with defeated Gaz Metan. It was Gaz Metan's fourth loss in a row. BC Timisoara's next round opponent will be higher ranked CS Dinamo Bucuresti (#7) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gaz Metan will play against the league's second-placed Steaua CSM (#2) having rather not much hope for a victory.
