Regular Season Round 5: Dynamo-NPU - Blyskavky 64-55

Round 5 in National League means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Kyiv where host Dynamo-NPU (3-0) beat league's leader Blyskavky (2-1) 64-55 on Saturday evening. It was a key game for the top position in League. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Dynamo-NPU made 20-of-24 free shots (83.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Blyskavky turnovers. 29 personal fouls committed by Blyskavky helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was forward Tetyana Lysenko (180-93) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 22 rebounds. Point guard Olha Sivakova (160-92) chipped in 19 points and 5 rebounds. Center Oksana Stepanyuk (190-95) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds and Iryna Zhmurko (181-96) added 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for the guests. Defending champion keeps a position of League leader. Blyskavky at the other side dropped to the second place with one game lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Dynamo-NPU. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
