Very expected game when 11th ranked Karlsruhe PS (1-6) was rolled over at home by second ranked Don Bosco Bamberg (6-1) 79-45 on Sunday. The game without a history. Don Bosco Bamberg led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Don Bosco Bamberg forced 20 Karlsruhe PS turnovers and outrebounded them 37-26 including 24 on the defensive glass. Latvian guard Ieva Jansone (180-90, college: Valparaiso) fired 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American center Miranda Cantrell (183-93, college: Jacksonville St.) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. Four Don Bosco Bamberg players scored in double figures. Leonie Lang (172) produced 7 points and Paulin Simon (170) added 12 points respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Don Bosco Bamberg. They maintain second place in South with 6-1 record behind leader Bad Aibling. Karlsruhe PS lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the eleventh position with six games lost. Don Bosco Bamberg will face ASC Theresianum Mainz (#10) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Karlsruhe PS will play against Wasserburg II and hope to win that game.
