Regular Season Round 6: Socar Petkim - Akhisar Bld 72-76

Another exciting game was between fifth ranked Akhisar Bld and 6th ranked Socar Petkim where Akhisar Bld (5-1) beat Socar Petkim (4-2) on the road 76-72. It looked good early as Socar Petkim took a 9-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Akhisar Bld had a 25-14 second period charge getting the lead and Socar Petkim was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 72-76. Akhisar Bld made 20-of-25 charity shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Socar Petkim was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for center Hakan Yapar (202-84) who led his team to a victory with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. American guard K.T. Harrell (193-92, college: Auburn) contributed with 17 points and 4 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) for the winners. Guard Cagdas Erdogan (188-88, agency: 1x1 Sports) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 7 rebounds and 12 assists and power forward Ali Isik (206-90) added 18 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Socar Petkim. Four Socar Petkim players scored in double figures. Akhisar Bld moved-up to third place, which they share with Sakarya BSB and Gediz. Socar Petkim at the other side keeps the sixth position with two games lost. They share it with Eskisehir Basket. Akhisar Bld will play against league's leader Acibadem Uni. in Istanbul in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Socar Petkim will play on the road against Bandirma Kir. (#17) in Balikesir and hopes to get back on the winning track.
