Regular Season Round 7: B.Loewen - Veilchen 52-71

There was no surprise when bottom-ranked B.Loewen (0-5) was crushed at home by ninth ranked Veilchen (3-4) 71-52 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Veilchen. B.Loewen was better in third quarter 14-6. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding B.Loewen to just 5 points in second quarter. Veilchen forced 29 B.Loewen turnovers. Center Vera Koenig (187) fired 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Czech guard Katarina Flasarova (171-85) chipped in 15 points. American center Mackenzie Morrison (195, college: William & Mary) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds and center Viktoria Jaeger (184) added 13 points and 9 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Veilchen moved-up to seventh place in North. B.Loewen lost their fifth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with five games lost. Veilchen will face Wusterhausen (#10) at home in the next round. B.Loewen will play against the league's leader Hannover having rather not much hope for a victory.
