Very important is a home loss of third ranked Elchingen (5-2) against eleventh ranked Licher Basket (2-5) on Sunday night. Host Elchingen was edged by Licher Basket in a tough game in Elchingen 85-86. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Elchingen. Spanish point guard Nil Angelats (185-93) fired 20 points and 5 assists for the winners. American power forward Lamar Mallory (198-90, college: Glenville St., agency: Warren Sports International) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. Mallory is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American point guard Lorne Jackson (188-90, college: Pepperdine) produced 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and naturalized Bosnian forward Mario Simic (198-83) added 18 points respectively for lost side. Four Elchingen players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Licher Basket moved-up to ninth place in South, which they share with Saarlouis and Wuerzburg. Newly promoted Elchingen keeps the third position with two games lost. They share it with Leipzig. Licher Basket will meet Saarlouis (#11) on the road in the next round. Elchingen will play against Titans (#8) and hope to secure a win.
