Date: November 8, 2015
LKL top team - Zalgiris (8-0) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eighth ranked Nevezis (2-6) in Kedainiai 90-67. It looked good early as Nevezis took a 5-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Zalgiris had a 20-14 second period charge getting the lead and Nevezis was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 67-90. They outrebounded Nevezis 36-24 including 30 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Zalgiris especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 64.3 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. International guard Edgaras Ulanovas (197-92) stepped up and scored 15 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and Greek power forward Ian Vougioukas (212-85, college: St.Louis) chipped in 17 points and 6 rebounds. Five Zalgiris players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was center Mindaugas Kupsas (217-91, agency: Octagon Europe) with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Ernestas Ezerskis (192-87) scored 10 points and 7 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zalgiris have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 8-0 record. Nevezis at the other side keeps the eighth position with six games lost. They share it with Siauliai. Zalgiris will play against Lietkabelis (#6) in Panevezys in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Nevezis will play on the road against Vytautas in Prienai and hopes to get back on the winning track.
