Regular Season Round 7: TuSLi Berlin - Hannover 66-87

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of TuSLi Berlin (4-1) in Lichterfelde on Sunday night. Hosts were rolled over by Hannover (6-0) 87-66. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of TuSLi Berlin. The game was mostly controlled by Hannover. TuSLi Berlin managed to win fourth quarter 19-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Hannover especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 57.1 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American Melissa Jeltema (175-88, college: Oakland) fired a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Forward Stefanie Grigoleit (186-89) chipped in 12 points and 8 rebounds. Hannover's coach Rodger Battersby felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lena Gohlisch (173-93) produced 9 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and center Julia Sandow (182) added 18 points respectively for lost side. Hannover have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place in North with 6-0 record. TuSLi Berlin at the other side keeps the third position with one game lost. Hannover are looking forward to face B.Loewen (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. TuSLi Berlin will play against Barmer TV (#9) in Wuppertal and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
